Winter lips will be soft and pretty with DIY lip scrub

The skin on our lips is much thinner than other parts of our body. The lips also have less oil glands and they lose moisture and become dry pretty quickly. Thus in winter, your lips need a little extra care. However, when we think of caring for the lips we usually think of hydration. But like the face, another important step in lip-care is exfoliation. Regular  exfoliation is required to remove dead cells and to keep the lips soft and smooth. You can make this exfoliator/scrub for your lips at home. Let's find out how.

Lemon and Petroleum Jelly Scrub

What you need:

•    Lemon juice 1 tbsp
•    Petroleum jelly 1 tbsp
•    Sugar 2 tbsp

First, mix petroleum jelly and sugar in a small bowl. Now add Lemon juice and mix it well. Gently massage your lips with the scrub for a minute. Then wash it off with slightly warm water. Lemon juice acts as a natural bleaching ingredient and petroleum jelly helps keep the lips soft.

Coconut oil and Honey scrub

What you need:

-    Coconut oil 1 tbsp
-    Honey 1 tbsp
-    Sugar 2 tbsp
-    Light hot water ½ tbsp

First, mix Coconut oil and Honey together. Now, add Sugar and slightly warm water and mix well. Then scrub it on your lips for 2-3 minutes and wash it off. Coconut oil contains anti-oxidants and fatty acid, which nourishes the lips. Sugar removes dead and dry skin cells from the lips. And Honey acts as a natural moisturizer.

There's no way to skip exfoliation when removing dead cell. So, make these scrubs easily at home and keep your lips healthy, soft and beautiful in Winter.
