Is your skin ready for Ramadan?

Is your skin ready for Ramadan?

The month of Ramadan starts in just a few days. Our food habits and our lifestyle drastically changes during this time. To balance our skin with the new routine, we need to start taking preparations from now. So, today I am going to talk about some of the preparations to keep your skin healthy and glowing during Ramadan.

Refrain from washing your face too many times

Washing your face too many times can cause the loss of moisture of the skin and the skin becomes dehydrated. As you can’t drink water during the day while fasting, the skin becomes even more dry and dehydrated. So, to help your skin against dehydration, you have to avoid washing your face too many times from now and you must use a hydrating moisturizer after every time you wash your face. During the summer, gel type moisturizers are a good solution for the skin, as the skin becomes oily and greasy due to the heat and the sweat at this time. Gel and lightweight moisturizers are quickly absorbed by the skin and gives the skin a water fresh glow.

The food you need to eat to keep your skin glowing

Excess carbonated beverages and caffeine are a unique cause of dehydration. So you have to avoid these as much as possible. Instead of these, try to include fresh fruits and fruit juice into your daily diet. These will increase your immunity and keep you hydrated throughout the day. During Iftar and Sehri, you can have food enriched with fiber and antioxidant; such as, berries, peanuts, dark chocolate, pomegranate etc. Besides keeping your skin healthy and glowing, these will also keep you feeling fresh.

Say goodbye to sugar

If you were planning to have many dessert items during the Iftar, change that plan right now! Because sugar is just as harmful for your skin as it is for your health. Excessive sugar can harm our immune system and causes problems like skin breakdown, fine line and wrinkles.

Regularly care for your skin

According to your skin type, use face-mask and exfoliator 1-2 days a week. This way, your skin will stay clean and moisturized from the inside. Besides, regular exfoliation increases the blood circulation of your skin and keeps it healthy.
Apart from all the things mentioned above, you must use a sunscreen before heading out. As you can’t drink water during the day while fasting, make sure you drink enough water in the time between Iftar and Sehri. This will help with the lack of liquid throughout the day and keep your skin hydrated.
